destruction

motivated
to protect their heritage resources. HeritageWatch is also proposing to undertake a number of other initiatives that will reduce the occurrence of looting including an effort to raise awareness of heritage issues with Cambodia's border police. Another project promotes the involvement of the rural population in the sustainable development of the ancient Khmer capital of Koh Ker. With assistance from HeritageWatch the people of Koh Ker will provide tourist services and establish sustainable businesses near the temples.
